A former tennis player, now certified pickleball instructor, Melvin LeBlanc (a.k.a. Abdul) is a 15-year resident of Meadowgreen and loves to play Pickleball. Abdul got involved in Pickleball at the E.A. Smith YMCA back in 2018. Since 2018, his achievements in the 60 – 64 age group 3.5-4.0 skill level includes:3Xs National Championship Qualifier, 1st Place Houston Open Mens Singles, 1st Place New York City Open Mens Doubles, 1st Place Big Easy Open Mens Doubles,1st Place AAU Mens Singles, 2nd Place AAU Mixed Doubles, 1st Place Atlanta Open Mens Doubles,1st Place Celebrity Tanning Open Mens Doubles,3rd Place Alabama Indoor Championship, 1st Place Mid-South Regional Champion Mens Singles,1st Place Las Vegas Open Mens Single,2021 Senior Olympic Qualifier. He is the 2023 Bronze Medal National Champion (ranked 3rd in the nation at 3.5 Men's Double level) He is an Air Force veteran, former Scoutmaster, a 16-year volunteer prison minister, USA Basketball Youth Development Coach and married with 3 children.
